“El Barbas”

Born in Pinos, Zacatecas Edgar Contreras, better known as “El Barbas” for his perfectly groomed beard has a contagious personality that helps listeners get their day started on the right foot. Although his childhood dreams did not include being a radio DJ (he dreamt of becoming a soccer star or astronaut) his childhood nickname “perico hablantin” or “talking parrot” shows he was destined to be on the air. He went on to study broadcast communications and received a bachelors of science in Communications.
Edgar loves travelling and is happy to pack his suitcase and hit the road on a moments notice. He also enjoys playing soccer, binge watching TV series, eating, and finding new and exciting ways to continue to connect with his listeners. On air, “El Barbas Contreras” fills your mornings with an energetic and lively show. He includes social media elements as an extension to his morning show which allow him to connect with listeners instantly and helping them feel like they really are part of the show.

 

“Karlioppy”

Karlioppy es graduada del Conservatorio de Artes y Ciencias de la Grabación como Ingeniero de Audio. Sus habilidades en la radio parecen naturales, como un niño pequeño que jugaba con grabadoras y casetes para simular un stand y presentar las canciones hasta que ella siguió su sueño y entró en el mundo de la radio donde poco a poco ha sido capaz de aprender Sobre este maravilloso mundo. Cuando era pequeña, soñaba con ser actriz o cantante o piloto de avión, pero el destino ya estaba trazado en el mundo de la radio. Sus aficiones incluyen escuchar música, pasar tiempo con Valentino, su perro y trabajar, ya que es la mejor manía en el mundo para ella.

 

“El Potrillo”

Oscar Noriega “EL POTRILLO”– Born in Irapuato, Guanajuato Mex. Oscar never thought that one day he would be behind a microphone and since childhood he only focused on his studies. But his passion for the arts led him to participate in declamation contests and due to his success he represented his state wining first place. He participated in various plays and fell in love with acting. Although, he studied dentistry, he immigrated to the United States to raise money and study dramatic arts in the Instituto Nacional de Bellas Artes. He began working as an on-air personality from the age of 18 and was the voice and image of a car dealership handling their marketing and TV shows. He was invited to record his first movie, Los Indeseados! His dynamism, energy, positivism and joy have allowed him to be in the taste of people for over 16 years. He is currently on-air from 3 to 7 pm on La Campesina entertaining the audience with very cheerful, dynamic and informative programming. He is in constant communication with his audience through social networks where he is very active with live feeds and posts daily! “Fernando Sosa”

FERNANDO SOSA – Born in Laredo, Texas and raised in Mexico City, where he began his radio career at the age of 15 Fernando is a respected on-air personality, producer and programmer in the broadcast industry. Fernando obtained his degree in Mass Communications and has worked in several cities including Mexico City, Cuidad Juarez, El Paso, and Phoenix.
Fernando is interested in historical events, politics, sports, and has always worked to make his shows interesting and create a personal connection with his listeners. When not on radio, Fernando Sosa loves watching movies, playing card games, traveling (yet, hates airports) and watching sports.  Fernando also follows a line of great cooks in his family and spends plenty of time grilling for his family.
Fernando Sosa is the host and executive producer of Punto de Vista and Despierta Ya. Fernando has interviewed some of the most famous Spanish-Language personalities including Julio Cesar Chavez, Hugo Sanchez, Luis Miguel and Marco Antonio Solis.

 

“Carmen Marquez”

CARMEN MARQUEZ – Born in Yuma, Arizona and raised in Michoacán Carmen Marquez considers herself a true Mexican-American and takes pride in her roots. She began her career in news, anchoring and producing for Telemundo in Yuma, Arizona. After two years in television, Carmen took a leap of faith into radio moving to the Phoenix market for Radio Campesina.
Carmen produces news segments thought the day, and gathers content from national and International news. Her primary focus is breaking news, and reporting on immigration. Carmen also produces and co-hosts the day time current events show “Punto de Vista,” where the most influential and trending topics are discussed. Her down to earth personality and ability to create a connection with anyone allows her to interview her guests and get them to answer questions in a way that is relatable to all listeners. In her personal life, Carmen enjoys visiting museums, attending acoustic concerts, and above all spending time with her family. ROGELIO REGALADO – Known as “El Torito” Rogelio is the host of Sunday’s beloved Vicente Fernandez show. Airing from 9am-1pm this show features the music of the beloved musical icon Vicente Fernandez as well as other artists within the same genre. “El Torito” hails from the city of Cuauhtemoc Chihuahua and started his broadcasting career in Texas. He enjoys his audience and tries to connect with his community as much as possible. Rogelio has been a tech, commercial announcer, and has also has extensive experience in promotions. With over 15 years’ experience in the radio industry he brings a fresh new voice that helps listeners celebrate their Mexican heritage.
